Senate President Bukola Saraki, will today, November 5, 2015, appear before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), for the continued trial of the corruption case preferred against him.
Saraki is facing a 13 count charge which borders on false declaration of assets, while he was governor of Kwara state.
Recall that on October 21, the CCT adjourned the case till today to allow the Court of Appeal make its ruling on the matter.
Saraki had approached that appeal court to challenge the jurisdiction of the CCT to try him.
The Appeal Court however ruled in favour of the tribunal hence the Senate President’s trial is expected to continue.
Meanwhile, Saraki, on November 3rd, approached the Supreme Court, in a plea to halt the proceeding of the CCT.
