More reactions have continued to trail the alleged “fake” Martin Luther King Junior Awards presented to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.
The reactions follow the denial by The King Center that neither it nor any member of the Martin Luther King and Coretta Scott King family issued an award to President Buhari.
The Presidency, it would be recalled, had tweeted on Monday that the president “received Martin Luther King Jnr’s family” who “conferred him with the 1st Black History Month National Black Excellence and Exceptional African Leadership Award 2018.”

But The King Center reacted in the negative on Wednesday. It tweeted: “The award given to President Buhari of Nigeria was not given by The King Center, at the request of The King Center or by the children of #MLK and #CorettaScottKing.”

Reacting to the denial, former President Goodluck Jonathan’s media aide, Reno Omokri, mocked President Buhari in a series of tweets.
Omokri said the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) is busy chasing shadows when the real “yahoo boys” “fraudsters” are allegedly in the presidential villa.

10 minutes ago, @abikedabiri said the award was presented on “behalf of the family”. This is in stark contrast to what the @TheKingCenter said. They said neither the MLK center, no MLK’s kids authorized any such award. Who is lying between the children of MLK and the Buhari govt?

Thank God @TheKingCenter denied that they gave an award to Buhari or asked Nigerians to reelect him. I was wondering how Martin Luther King‘s family will visit Nigeria to give an award to a tyrant! Their father had a dream and they came to Nigeria to associate with a nightmare?

And SARS is harassing yahoo boys, when all along the main yahoo man is at @AsoRock faking awards, faking speeches, faking projects and faking change. In fact this Martin Luther King Junior Award scandal is the tip of the iceberg. Did he not promise to equalize Naira with Dollar?

When you use DSS, NIA and DIA to harass political opponents instead of facing their core duties, you get scammed by a fake Martin Luther @TheKingCenter Award. If these agencies were not busy doing other duties, they ought to have alerted the President that these people were fake!
