“I didn’t hear about the information on time until a friend called me this afternoon that children are dying here in this school. I had to abandon what I was doing to rush down her and pick up my children. This is quite sad and i think it time for school managements to stop pupil from celebrating their birthdays in school,” the parent said.

A source confirmed to THE WHISTLER that the three students died of the same symptoms, bleeding from the ears and from the nose.

It was further gathered that the late students identified as Na’imat Yahaya, 14, and Yahaya Garba, 14, both in primary four, died after returning to their homes.

The third student, Moses Sunday of primary one, was said to have been taken to the Kubwa General Hospital alongside two other school pupils namely Aisha Isa and Hasiya Haruna on the day of the party.

The development led to confusion in the area, with parents storming the school to withdraw their wards.

The school is currently under lock and key after the Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Musa Dikko visited the premises along with representatives of the FCT minister.

Dikko told newsmen that the school will remain closed till Monday, February 26, as investigations are ongoing on the cause of death of the victims.
