SEC Holds Seminar On How 2020 Budget Affects Capital Market

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) says it has assembled a team of experts to make presentations at a workshop on the relationship between the national budgets and how it affects the capital market.

The commission in a statement on Wednesday said the seminar scheduled for Thursday, February 13, 2020, will focus on how the capital market can leverage the 2020 budget as well as the finance Act 2019 for growth.

According to the SEC,  it would explore ways in which the capital market could contribute more meaningfully to the growth and recovery process the budget and the Act are intended to promote.

Expected as guest of honour at the event is the Minister for Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, while Suleyman Ndanusa OON will be the Chairman.

Panellists at the event include Mr. Seyi Owoturo, CEO United Securities Limited, Laoye Jaiyeola, CEO Nigerian Economic Summit Group, Emeritus Ademola Oyejide, Department of Economics, University of Ibadan and Tumi Sekoni, Managing Director, FMDQ Securities Exchange Limited.
