Spending thousands of dollars on a smartphone seems like an outrageous thing to do for many—unless you’re in the business of keeping your information super-secure.

That’s why Sirin Labs, a new company that’s aiming for more futuristic tech solutions, has revealed what it calls “the world’s first truly smart phone.” The SOLARIN aims to keep privacy at the forefront of mobile technology by targeting the international business consumer who walks around with a great deal of private information on his or her devices. The phone provides security solutions but doesn’t compromise on usability, quality or design. After two years of research and development at facilities in Sweden and Tel Aviv, Sirin Labs has finally revealed the phone, which contains over 2,500 inner components.

“We do not accept that price drives what’s available in technology. With SOLARIN, we break the rules,” said Moshe Hogeg, President and Co-founder of Sirin Labs.

SOLARIN features a carefully created privacy package that keeps private information private. The phone comes with Zimperium mobile threat protection that thwarts an array of advanced device, network and application mobile cyber-attacks, without impairing usability or functionality of a top-of-the-range smartphone.

It also incorporates the advanced privacy technology, currently unavailable outside of the agency world.

The phone integrates a chip-to-chip 256-bit AES encryption, the same technology that militaries around the world use to protect their communications, offering the strongest possible mobile privacy protection worldwide. The security features are activated by the “Security Switch” on the back of the handset, which causes the phone to switch to a shielded mode and presents an exclusive suite for fully encrypted calls and messages.

“Cyber-attacks are endemic across the globe. This trend is on the increase. Just one attack can severely harm reputations and finances. SOLARIN is pioneering new, uncompromising privacy measures to provide customers with greater confidence and the reassurance necessary to handle business-critical information,” said Tal Cohen, CEO and Co-founder of Sirin Labs.

SOLARIN runs on a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 810 processor with X10 LTE and Wi-Fi to deliver high-performance connectivity.

It also features a 23.8-megapixel camera, with laser autofocus and four-tone flash, plus a front-facing flash and 5.5” IPS LED 2k resolution screen.

As for the phone’s exterior, SOLARIN was designed by world-renowned industrial designer Karim Rashid. Engineers that usually make high-class watches meticulously assembled the phone.

The SOLARIN3The phone has a unique metal matrix composite chassis, the kind typically used in the aerospace industry for its absolute rigidity. It also incorporates titanium panels for structural strength.

Anyone interested can purchase a SOLARIN phone from the company’s website for $13,800 plus taxes.
