Sen. Abe: Children Raised With Values Of Integrity, Hard-Work Will Never Lack

Senator Magnus Abe

Senator Magnus Ngei Abe has urged parents to raise their children with values of “integrity and hard-work” to enable them become self-contained in life.

Abe, who represents Rivers South East Senatorial District, said this at the funeral ceremony of late Pa Piagbo Albert Mene which held in Rivers State.

Late Mene is the father of Mr. Derek Mene, the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The Senator equally tasked both State and Federal governments on good leadership so as to create conducive environments for Nigerian youths to establish themselves.

“If we want to make the country better so that things will work then government must provide good governance in order for the people to help themselves in their own hour of need while families should give their children good character so that their children can be able to work hard and meet up their own obligations,” Abe said at Wiiyaakara Town in Khana Local Government Area of the state.

“And that is why we are here today to celebrate a man who prepared his children very well. Today, they are able to meet their own needs. If we give our children character, if we teach them the proper values of honesty, integrity, hard-work, faithfulness and truthfulness to other human being, they will never lack.

“He gave his children character, he gave them upbringing that allowed them to be able to mix well with people, to be able to keep their word to their friends, to understand the importance of honesty, integrity and hard-work. That is why all of us are here today to celebrate him,” said the lawmaker.

Speaking also at the occasion, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, Chairman of the NDDC Board, said Mene’s demise calls for celebration rather than mourning.

“It is not every death that leads to mourning. This is certainly one death that does not lead to mourning. This is one death that calls for celebration of life and we celebrate a live that have been well lived,” said Ndoma-Egba.

“He was blessed in every way, he was blessed with character, he was blessed with good children, he was blessed with long life and today he is blessed with a place in heaven,” he said.
