Serena Williams Crowned WTA Player Of The Year

The American professional, was ranked No. 1 throughout 2015, going 53-3 with a WTA-high five titles, including three at major tournaments – Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon. Her only loss was in the semifinals of the U.S. Open to Roberta Vinci.

Her dominance of the tour was so great that she made WTA Rankings history in the summer, too. For six weeks she actually had over twice as many ranking points as the No.2, something that had never happened before.

Williams also pocketed $10,582,642 in 2015, second only to her own $12,385,572 from 2013.

Her sister Venus Williams was named WTA Comeback Player of the Year, after a hot streak of form took her to No 7 in the world.

Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza won Doubles Team of the Year, after winning Wimbledon and the US Open, while Daria Gavrilova was Newcomer of the Year.
