Sex Scandal Hearing Stalled Over Foreign Affairs Minister’s Absence

The House of Representatives Committee on Ethics and Privileges, chaired by Nicholas Ossai (PDP-Delta) have postponed the ongoing sex scandal hearing of three members of the House of Representatives.

The decision was announced following absence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffery Onyeama, who was expected to be at the meeting today.

The hearing, initially slated for July 11, 2016, was postponed till today, July 14th, to enable some of the members of the committee who traveled to perform their religious obligation in Mecca during the Ramadan fast to return.

The United States ambassador, James Entwistle was expected to provide video clips of the incident alleged to have occurred during the International Visitor Leadership Programme in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, held between April 7 and 13, 2016.

The three out of the 10 lawmakers, namely: Mohammed Garba Gololo (APC-Bauchi); Samuel Ikon (PDP-Akwa Ibom) and Mark Gbillah (APC-Benue) allegedly solicited for sex from prostitutes and grabbing hotel housekeeper in a bid to rape her.
