SGF’s N64m ‘Upgraded’ Website Goes Live

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, on Monday launched the upgraded website of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, www.osgf.gov.ng.

Speaking during the launch, Mustapha said the website cost a whooping N64 million naira, procured from the 2017 budget.

He said the federal government allocated N65m for the website, noting that the contract which was awarded by the Bureau of Public Procurement, followed the pre-requisites of the Public Procurement Act 2007.

The SGF said the new website is in conformity with modern technology and requirements of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and compliant to the Executive Order 001.

“There was a contract in 2017. The figure in public domain. It is about N64m including procurement of laptops, training, consultancy services,” he said.

“The contract was awarded by the Bureau of Public Procurement in accordance with the procurement act.”

Mustapha said the major component of the website is the e-participation platform that allows members of the public to give feedback, request for information from government, submit ideas, and lodge complaints, and get responses to their inquiries in 72 hours.

He said that the new website will bring governance to the people and will add value to information disseminated to public through some of its features.

The SGF further explained that part of the N64 million will be used to train 50 people that will manage the website.

The website has links to various agencies, such as the Federal Road Safety Corps and the National Identity Management Commission.

The OSGF explained that the links will enable citizens, interested persons in the business of Government from around the globe to interact more easily with Government organizations and officials.
