Shekarau Wins As Court Nullifies Ganduje-Led APC Exco In Kano

A Federal Capital Territory High Court has nullified the election of the Governor Abdullahi Ganduje backed All Progressives Congress (APC) Executive committee for Kano State.

Justice Hamza Muazu gave the ruling on Tuesday in an application filed by Senator Ibrahim Shekarau against the Ganduje faction of the party.

Shekarau had argued that Ganduje and his supporters conducted a sham ward and local government congresses to produce its excos.

He then urged the court to declare his own faction involving about 37 excos and ward delegates as the authentic candidates of the party for the 44 local governments of the state.

He also asked the court to restrain the APC from reintegrating the Ganduje-faction.

Channels Television reports that the judge granted all the reliefs sought.
