Shiite Protest: Stray Bullet Hits Channels TV Reporter

The Shiite Protest In Abuja on Monday took a bloody turn as a stray bullet hit a Channels Television reporter.

The protesters had invaded the Federal secretariat, protesting the continued detention of their leader, Ibrahim Yaqoub El Zakzaky.

Shortly after the protest began, men of the Police Force stormed the area spraying tear gas to contain the situation, leading to a gun battle between the two groups.

It was learnt that the Channels TV reporter was hit by a stray bullet in the stomach.

It was also learnt that two other persons were shot dead.

However, TheCable claims that six corpses were evacuated around federal secretariat.

The Police has taken control of the situation as at the time of filing in this report.
