Shi’ites – Police Clash: Injured Corps Member Discharged From Hospital

After been hit by a stray bullet during the clash between the Police and members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Shi’ites in Abuja, a National Youth Corps member, Aliyu Suleiman has been discharged from the hospital.

Recall that the incident which happened on July 22, 2019 had claimed the life of another corps member, Precious Owolabi who was hit by a bullet while reporting the event for Channels TV where he was carrying out his primary assignment.

According to Twitter handle @officialnyscng, the Director-General, Brigadier General shuaibu Ibrahim while receiving Suleiman in his office was thankful to God for sparing his life.

Ibrahim went further by pledging that the NYSC Management will offset his medical bills and monitor his post-discharge health condition.

Recounting his ordeal, Aliyu said, ‘We heard gunshots close to us, while our driver was about to turn, I couldn’t feel my arm, it was then I realised that I was hit by a bullet and I immediately notified my CDS officer, who called the the attention of the NYSC FCT Management on the incident’.

The corps member has been redeployed to his home state for post-discharge medicare and proper monitoring.
