Sinach, Testimony Jaga, JoePraise, Others Win Big At 2019 LIMA Awards

Nigerian international gospel singer, Osinachi Joseph popularly known as Sinach, has won the ‘Grand Best Song of the Year’ award at the 2019 Loveworld International Music and Arts (LIMA) Awards with a cash prize of $100,000.

Sinach is known globally for several gospel hits songs, including “Way Maker” which brought her to limelight.

The artist of the year award with a cash prize of $25,000 went to Saliu Aliyu Olayiwola, popularly known as Testimony Jaga, who couldn’t hold back his tears of joy as he narrated his life tales on the street before he found salvation in Jesus Christ and comfort in the Loveworld nation.

Other top winners at this year’s LIMA Awards include JoePraise, Eben and Samsong.

LIMA is an annual event created in 2016 by the President of The Loveworld Inc. (Christ Embassy) Chris Oyakhilome to serve as a platform for encouraging gospel talents and empowering them to become global figures In the music industry.

According to the Media Director of the ministry, Pastor Tony Ikeokwu, the aim of the LIMAA is to revolutionalise gospel music around the world.

“We believe that if you give people opportunities to express themselves, they will excel and because we feel we have limited opportunities available to our artists to be celebrated outside as gospel music ministers, so we instituted the LIMA Awards to recognize and honour our own.”

The biggest winner at the 2019 LIMA Awards, Sinach, was inducted into the Bethlehem Hall of Fame, joining Dwayne Johnson, Pope Benedict XVI and a host of other internationally recognized celebrities in 2017.

She became the first gospel singer from Nigeria to obtain over 100 million views of a single video on YouTube in March 2019, and the third Nigerian to achieve that feat.

Sinach also became the first gospel artist from Africa to tour India, headlining concerts with several thousands in attendance in September. 

The 2019 LIMA Award witnessed attendance and performances from Testimony Jaga, Joe Praize, Loveworld UK Band, Sinach, Samsong, Eben Frank Edward and many other talented gospel music artists.
