Six Injured In Anambra Road Crash

Six persons, Sunday, sustained varying degrees of injuries in a multiple road accident that occurred opposite Oando filling station, Nteje, in Anambra State.

The accident involved a Toyota Corolla car with registration number BLF937BW and a bus belonging to Romchi Mass Transit.

Fifteen persons, comprising four male adults, four female adults, six female children and one male child, were involved in the crash.

An eyewitness said the crash was due to wrongful u-turn on the highway. The injured victims were taken to Chira Hospital for treatment.

In another development, an articulated tanker, laden with diesel without a registration number, Saturday, rammed into a building by Akwudo junction, Otolo Nnewi.

THE WHISTLER gathered that the crash was due to brake failure which resulted in loss of control.

The sector public education officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, SRC Florence Edor, told our correspondent that, “Two male adults were involved in the crash. No injury or death was recorded. The occupants of the building have been advised to vacate the building because of the inflammable nature of the product.”

Our correspondent reports that men of the state fire service, Nigerian Police and the operatives of the FRSC ensured that the situation did not get out of hand.
