Slave Trade: Edo Governor Appoints SSA On Illegal Migration
Following the large number of Libyan returnees from Edo state, Governor Godwin Obaseki has appointed a Senior Special Assistant on Human Trafficking and Illegal Migration.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Edo State has witnessed an unprecedented returnees from Libya within the last six weeks.

The State Attorney General and Commissioner for justice, Prof. Yinka Omorogbe on Thursday disclosed that 1,439 returnees had been received by the Edo government from in the last 2 months.

Omorogbe explained that after documentation, the returnees will be receiving monthly stipend from the state government, and would later be engaged in an empowerment programme in January.
