Sokoto: Kidnappers Engage Police In Gun Duel, 2 Killed

On Friday, the Sokoto Police Command said it killed two suspected kidnappers in Sanyinna Area of Tambuwal local government area of Sokoto.

The State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Sani Ka’oje, made this known during a press briefing in Sokoto.

Ka’oje noted that the suspects had engaged some operatives of the force in a gun battle and in the process got killed, and four were arrested.

According to him, six other suspected bandits were arrested in two local government areas of the state of Dange/Shuni and Kebbe as well as four suspected armed robbers.

The commissioner thereafter urged the residents to go about their daily routines without fear of harassment as the police are in firm control of the security situation in the state.
