South Africa Minister Admitted After Contracting Covid-19
South Africa’s Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Gwede Mantashe, has been admitted to hospital due to covid-19 complications.
The nation’s presidency, in a tweet, disclosed that Mantashe had tested positive last week.

Government said he needed to be at the hospital to be monitored closely.

“Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr Gwede Mantashe, has been admitted to hospital on the advice of the family doctor for better medical attention and monitoring after testing positive for Covid-19 last week,” it tweeted on Monday.
The nation has the highest covid-19 cases numbering over 200,000 and over 5,000 deaths, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), Africa Region.
