SSCE: No Extension Of Registration, Says NECO

The National Examination Commission (NECO) has said there will be no extension of registration period for the 2021 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

The examination body made this known in a statement signed by its Head of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, on Wednesday.

In the statement, which was titled ‘NECO will not extend registration period for 2021 SSCE internal’, Mr Sani said the registration period would not be extended and the examination would commence on July 5 2021.

“The registration exercise which started on March 31, will close on Friday, June 25, 2021, and will not be subjected to extension, while the examination will commence unfailingly on Monday, July 5, 2021,” he said.

According to Sani, the decision was to enable efficiency in examination planning and logistics, adding that the council assures stakeholders of seamless conduct of the 2021 examination.

“This is to enable efficient and effective planning for the examination logistics required for the smooth conduct of the 2021 SSCE internal.

“State Ministries of Education, Commandants, Principals, Proprietors and other relevant stakeholders are enjoined to take note of the closing date and ensure timely completion of their candidates’ registration,” he said.
