“I feel well and have been in self isolation since yesterday evening, because I was in contact with people who tested positive for Coronavirus.

“…My decision to work in isolation is because I do not want to compromise the lives of my dear residents, staff and colleagues, as I await my #covid19 test results

“I urge FCT residents to be calm and adhere strictly to the guidance on #COVID2019 prevention.”

The NCDC had said 10 out of the 51 present confirmed cases of COVID-19 were in Abuja, the federal capital territory.

Aliyu, who is a member of the Presidential Task Force on Coronavirus, may have had direct contact with another member of the team, the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, who tested positive on Tuesday.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, who also came in contact with the confirmed cases in Abuja, had tested negative for the virus.
