States Generate N691.11bn As IGR In H1 2019 – NBS

The National Bureau of Statistics on Friday published the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) at state level for first and second quarter (Q1-Q2) 2019.

The NBS in its report estimated the IGR for the 36 states including the FCT at N691.11bn in the first half H1 2019 compared to N596.91bn recorded in second half H2 of 2018.

The release further indicates an upward shift in the IGR of about 15.78 percent.

According to the report, 31 states and the FCT recorded growth in the IGR with Lagos, Rivers and the FCT topping the list while five states recorded a decline in IGR in the period under review.

The Federal Account Revenue Committee (FAAC) allocation in H1 2019 according to the NBS report stood at N1.20 trillion while total revenue made available to the states and the FCT stood at N1.89 trillion.

The report however noted the aforementioned allocations indicate a positive growth on state IGR compared with that of 2018.

Similarly, on the country’s indebtedness, NBS figures placed the value of foreign debt at $4.23 bn while domestic debt hits N 3.85 trillion at the end of the year 2018 respectively.
