2019: Jona Jang Welcomes IBB, OBJ’s Call For Buhari’s Sack

-Says Buhari No Exception If Jonathan Was Criticised

Former Plateau state governor, Jona Jang, has weighed in on the calls for President Muhummadu Buhari’s ousting by ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida.

Jang, who is the Senator currently representing Plateau North senatorial district, has wondered why there is outrage over the calls for Buhari’s removal in 2019.

Recall that Obasanjo had proposed a political movement (Coalition For Nigeria Movement) whose objective is to oust Buhari from power on the grounds of nepotism and ineptitude.

IBB had similarly called for the president’s sacking, saying Nigeria needs a “new breed leadership with requisite capacity to manage our diversities and jump-start a process of launching the country on the super highway of technology-driven leadership”.

Reacting to the calls, Senator Jang said if former President Goodluck Jonathan could experience such opposition despite doing his best, Buhari’s case shouldn’t be an exception.

“Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and General Ibrahim Babangida just expressed their feelings among many Nigerians. Probably, they voted for him (Buhari) in 2015, and they are just telling him (Buhari) that we won’t give you (Buhari) our votes again,” he said.

“But for God sake, they (Obasanjo/Babangida) have done nothing wrong. They have the right to express how they feel about his (Buhari) governance. Most Nigerians did same during Goodluck Jonathan’s administration even when he was trying his best. Why will Buhari’s own become an exception?

“I don’t understand the reason for the blame game (by APC). If till today, after two years in governance, the APC administration is blaming PDP for it failures, then the time is up for them to leave.”

Speaking further, the ex-governor said he was ready and will to succeed President Buhari if he is deemed fit by Nigerians.

“I’m in politics to serve my people. If Nigerians really feel I can be President, why not? But I will have to confide in my creator (God) first,” he said.
