2019: PDP Plotting Mass Rigging In Abia – APC

The All Progressive Congress, APC, has accused opposition Peoples Democratic Party of plotting mass rigging in Abia State.

The Abia State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Comrade Benedict Godson, said this at a press conference in Umuahia on Thursday.

Godson said PDP was using shenanigans on unsuspecting Abia electorates by demanding their permanent voter cards’ serial numbers, so as to be offered employment opportunities in the state civil service.

“From our investigation, that is going on here in Abia state, taking people’s PVC in the name of giving employment to them while they are copying the PVC serial numbers to rig 2019 election in Abia. It is wrong. We condemn it in totality,” the spokesman said.

Godson urged the public against disclosing their serial numbers of their PVC to anyone.

“There is no way giving out your PVC number is a criteria for getting a job or gaining anything. It is a fraud when people tell you to give out your PVC number for you to get employment. It is private. You don’t give it out.

“It is part of the evil machination by enemies of democracy to hijack electoral process in Abia come 2019,” he added.

He however advised Abians to participate actively in the ongoing voters’ registration.

“We want Abians to come out en mass and register to get their PVCs and get prepared for the election,” he said.

Godson also decried the destruction of APC billboards in the state.

“That is undemocratic. I want to use this opportunity to warn whoever or which of the political party in the state that is doing this to desist from it,” he added.
