$2bn Arms Deal: AEDC Explains N125m Payment From NSA’s Office

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), has refuted media reports which claimed that the organization is involved in the $2 billion dollars arms deal scam involving immediate past National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd).

This was contained in a press statement issued by the management of AEDC on Wednesday and made available to newsmen.

The statement explained that the sum of N125,503,255.11 which the organization received from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) was for the payment of electricity consumed by the presidency.

The statement read, “Our attention has been drawn to a report in the print and on electronic media of Monday, 14th December, 2015, to the effect that Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) received the sum of N125,503,255.11 from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).

“AEDC wishes to use this medium to clarify that the said sum was paid by the ONSA as part payment for electricity consumed by the Presidency.”
