7 Dead As Train Rams Into Trailer In Lagos

No fewer than seven people have died and many others injured after multiple crashes occurred at the Kara area of Lagos on Thursday.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and the state police command confirmed the incident.

The multiple accidents which occurred at the Abbatoir area of Agege, outskirts of Lagos, involved a truck and some vehicles, leaving three casualties, an eyewitness said.

A train also rammed into a trailer on the railway line along Fagba. Four persons hanging on the train reportedly died while others sustained injuries.

Lagos State police spokesman, Olarinde Famous-Cole who confirmed the incident said, “We just got the information. Our policemen and those attached to the railway command are in control of the situation. I cannot confirm any death, but I can tell you that some persons were injured.

“We shall be able to furnish you with details later please.”
