Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani Kayode, has expressed his disapproval of the confirmation of the appointment of former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi, as minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the Nigerian senate.
Amaechi was finally confirmed a minister on Thursday, amid protest by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which led to the party staging a walk out.
Reacting to the development, Fani-Kayode, popularly known for his crude words, said the senate’s refusal to look into the report by the Ethics and privilege committee which noted that Amaechi should not be confirmed as Minister because of the corruption charges leveled against him, was a mockery of Buhari’s anti-corruption war.
Fani Kayode said, “Rotimi Ameachi’s confirmation as a Federal Minister is the greatest mockery of the governments so-called war against corruption. It stinks.”
