APC Abandoned My Husband After 2015 Election – Remi Tinubu

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, says her husband was “trashed” by the APC despite helping the party win the 2015 elections.

The senator, who represents Lagos Central, said this on Monday when she appeared on TVC’s breakfast show, Your View.

Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos state, was instrumental to APC’s victory in the 2015 presidential election.

Mrs Tinubu said at a point she had to advice her husband against his continued loyalty to the Presidency, after it became obvious that he has been abandoned.

“I was hurt [by] what they did to my husband after the campaign. He didn’t say a thing. We were running three campaigns in my house, and for him to be trashed like that.

“But I saw somebody who has love for this country. I am not the type of woman who speaks in a man’s ear. If I want to do anything, I pray for him more.

“Occasionally, I would chip in and I would say, ‘You’re still helping out? Why are you helping out?’ He would say, ‘This country matters to me more.’” she said.

Speaking on the 2019 presidential election, Tinubu said “Buhari is still the candidate to beat, leadership is inspiration, management is technical,” she said.

“If you have all the degree, you are smart, you are savvy, It’s not about leadership. How many are you inspiring?

“Have you seen the poor? They trust him than any other crop of leader you have today. I am not campaigning for him because I have looked at the dynamics. The poor still trust him.”

She described the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan as reckless, saying “that is what has gotten us to where we are today”.
