Chairman of a Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural and political organisation, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was not ready for power when it won the March 28 presidential election, adding that the party only planned to oust former president, Goodluck Jonathan from office.

Adebanjo said this during the public presentation of a book written by former minister of Education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran titled: Serving My Fatherland Volumes One and Two, in commemoration of his 70th birthday in Ibadan yesterday

He said, “The APC only agreed on sending Jonathan away. What they would do for the country, they never agreed on. They have various vested interests.

“That was why there was crisis in the party. You don’t share the booties after winning the war. You should have agreed on how to share the booties when you were still fighting the war,” he said.

Also speaking at the occasion was Governor Mimiko who commended Prof Adeniran for writing the book.

Mimiko said, “I am here because I am excited about the personality of Prof. Tunde Adeniran, not only as an intellectual but also as a politician. It is important for the intellectuals in politics to document their experiences.”

Some other prominent Nigerians who graced the occasion include; former governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Segun Oni; former Military Administrators, Gen Raji Rasaki (retd) and Oladayo Popoola; former minister of Sports and Special Duties, Prof Taoheed Adedoja.
