Arrest Promoters Of Anti-Igbo Song In The North, Balarabe Musa Tells FG

A second republic governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, has called for the arrest of promoters of “anti-Igbo” song in northern Nigeria.

Musa, in a chat with newsmen, described the calls for violence against Igbo in the region as “embarrassing and unfortunate’’.

The former governor, who was reacting to the October 1 deadline handed Igbo to exit the north, described proponents the quit notice as “criminals”.

He therefore called on the Federal Government to go after those behind the song, saying their move is a deliberate attempt to distort peace and security in the country.

“The song is not only embarrassing but unfortunate and capable of threatening the peace of the country,” said Musa.

“So the Federal Government should act fast before the issue escalates so that we do not have a repeat of sad tales of history.

“The government should ensure that the promoters of the song are brought to book because they are nothing but criminals.

“The quit notice is uncalled for and does not reflect the thinking of the North.

“So many people have condemned it. Even some youths have come out to openly denounce it.

“That tells you that that unfortunate order is not supported by most northerners; it is condemnable,” he said.
