Arsenal were on fine form as they brushed aside London rival Chelsea in the English Premier League at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

First half goals by Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil gave the Gunners a 3-0 victory over Antonio Conte’s men, who have now lost two successive Premier League games.

Sanchez opened the scoring for the home side in his 100 appearance for Arsenal after a defensive blunder from defender Cahill.

The Chilean has now scored 47 goals for the Gunners in 100 appearances, just one shy of Thierry Henry (48) in his first 100 games.

Walcott added to Arsenal’s advantage two minutes later as he finished a sublime move for the home side to further dent any chance of the Blues trying to bounce back from Sanchez opener.

A beautifully placed volley from Mesut Ozil in the 40th minute crowned the day for Arsene Wenger’s men as they have now won 4 successive Premier League games.

The victory marked Arsenal’s biggest win over Chelsea since 1997 and a first win in five years.

“We have started the season well and we are mentally up for every game. We are playing very well and training well, translating what we are doing behind the scenes into matches,” Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi said after the game.

Next up for the Gunners is a Champions League game against FC Basel of Switzerland at the Emirate Stadium on Wednesday night.
