Atiku Group Mocks Buhari’s Anti-Corruption War

A pro-Atiku Abubakar group, The Waziri Agenda, have described the anti-corruption drive of President Muhammadu Buhari as a mockery of honesty, transparency and accountability.

The group in a statement after paying a solidarity visit on the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Abuja on Tuesday, said “the revelation by the embattled former chairman of the Pension Reform Taskforce, Abdulrasheed Maina, that President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, to sit with him and fashion out ways of reintegrating him into the system underscores the hypocrisy in the Buhari’s anti-corruption fight.”

The statement signed by secretary of the group, Bar. Ken Asogwa, described the action of the Presidency in Mainagate as “tantamount to hiding behind one finger as the president who engineered Maina’s recall be seen to order the ‘immediate sack’ of Maina.

According to Asogwa, “Buhari’s anti-corruption has failed as it has literally become a bundle of contradictions.”

On the presidential aspiration of Atiku, the group described him as the only hope in sight for the Nigerian youth.

“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s economic blueprint developed in 2010 and his call for the restructuring of Nigeria remain the only panacea to the myriad of problems bedeviling us as a nation.

“As a group, we earnestly implore Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to hearken to the calls of his ardent supporters by declaring his presidential ambition at the earliest possible date.”
