‘Aviation Contributes $1bn Yearly To Nigeria’s Economy’

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Engr. Saleh Dunoma, on Thursday, revealed that in every one year, the aviation industry generates over $1 billion to the Nigerian economy.

Dunoma disclosed this during an interaction session with the newsmen in Abuja.

He also explained that the sector has provided more than 150,000 jobs in Nigeria, thereby creating business opportunities for both local and foreign investors.

The FAAN boss also adopted the system of partnering with the private sector, inspite of the decision of the Federal Government on concessioning of the four major airport in Nigeria.

According to him, the strategy has become inevitable, given the large number of international airlines that now operate into the country.

He said, “FAAN offers an anal of irresistible incentives and doing business with us has become a lot easier.

“We are investing heavily in the renewals and expansion of infrastructure of our airports, especially the international airports”, he added.

He also expressed confidence that investors, both local and foreign, would realize prompt and significant return on their investments, when all these things are put in place.
