Bayelsa Govt Announces Alamieyeseigha’s Burial Arrangement

The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah, on Monday, announced the burial arrangement of a former governor of the state, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha.

Alamieyeseigha, who died two days after allegedly slipping into a coma, in October 2015, will be buried on Saturday, April 9, 2016, in his country home in the Amassoma area of the state.

“There will be a Youth/Student Activities in Yenagoa the Bayelsa state capital; public lecture on Federalism and Development in Nigeria, by Prof. G.G Darah at the Banquet Hall, Yenagoa; Night of Songs and Tributes at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, Yenagoa,” a statement by the Chairman of the Central Burial Committee, said.

“On Friday, April 8, there will be a Valedictory State Executive Council Session, at the Banquet Hall, Yenagoa and Wake-keep at his country home in Amassoma,” it added.

The statement further said that the burial ceremony will be concluded with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, April 10, at St Peters Anglican Church in Yenagoa, the state capital.
