Beggars Making N25, 000 Daily Arrested In Onitsha

Operatives of the Nigeria Police have apprehended one Friday Edet and Ezekiel Ubong who used abducted children to make over N25, 000 daily in Onitsha, Anambra State.

As reported by Punch, the suspects, who have now been detained at the Onitsha prisons, made the said sum daily by inflicting injuries on the children in order to use them for alms begging.

Both Friday and Ubong who are indigenes of Akwa Ibom State, however, met their waterloo after they were taken into custody by the police in Anambra on Tuesday.

A humanitarian group told Punch that the suspects were arrested by the Fegge division of the police in the state.

Mr. Rabiu Garba, the officer in charge of the police division, equally disclosed that the suspects were infamous for using 7 children with various diseases such as hernia and cancer for the ugly act.
