The Chief Magistrate Court in Abuja on Wednesday, discharged the Director of Radio Biafra and Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Magistrate of the court, Shuaibu Usman, who discharged Kanu on all charges preferred against him by the federal government ruled: “The accused person is hereby discharged and the case struck out.”
According to Vanguard, the court reached the decision today, December 16, 2015, after the DSS withdrew its case against Kanu.
You will recall that Usman was scheduled to deliver judgment on the application of the DSS on December 1, but he had postponed the date.
You will also recall that Kanu has spent at least 90 days in the custody of the DSS, despite an order from the magistrate court granting him bail in October.
Kanu was apprehended in Lagos, in October, on charges of criminal conspiracy, intimidation and belonging to an unlawful society.
