Recall that there has been agitations for a sovereign state by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB in the eastern part of the country.

Only recently, the Nigerian army, backed by a federal high court in Abuja, declared the group as a “terrorist organization.”

The federal government, as part of ways to douse rising tension in the region following the agitations, deployed military personnel to the region.

The senate at the executive session resolved that all groups seeking to achieve agitation “should do so through Constitutional means.”
