Bill Gates Reclaims World’s Richest Person Title
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has dethroned Jeff Bezos to become the richest person in the world, after the Amazon founder enjoyed the status for some hours on Thursday.
Bill Gates returned to the top spot when he finished the day with a net worth of $89.8 billion while Bezos trailed him with $88.8 billion, according to Forbes and Bloomberg.

Amazon’s stock price fell slightly later on Thursday, which took Bezos, who owns around 80 million shares of the company, behind the Microsoft founder once again.
Amazon’s share price rose by 2.4 percent on Thursday, with the company’s value exceeding $500bn, taking Bezos net worth to $90.7bn, according to Forbes.
He was ranked third richest in the world on Forbes 2017 list of the world’s billionaires, with a fortune of $72.8 billion.
The Amazon founder is only the sixth individual to hold the richest Person in the world status.
