Boyfriend Of Ondo Ex-Deputy Governor’s Daughter Remanded In Prison

An Akure Magistrate Court on Monday remanded boyfriend of late daughter of the former Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Seidu Sakiru Adeyemi, in prison for allegedly killing his girlfriend, Khadijat Oluboyo.

Khadijat is the daughter of Lasisi Olugbenga Oluboyo, immediate past Deputy Governor of Ondo State.

Adeyemi was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Bob Manuel Victoria at the Oke Eda Magistrate Court in Akure.

He is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Mary Adebayo, told the court that the accused person and others at large conspired together to murder Khadijat and bury her in his room.

She said that the offence was contrary to and punishable under Sections 324 and 316 of the Criminal Code Cap. 37, Vol. I, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

THE WHISTLER reported earlier that Khadijat, a final year student of the Adekunle Ajasin University was found dead in Adeyemi’s residence on July 2, in Akure.

Recall that the deceased was said to have gone missing in her school for six days before her corpse was discovered inside her boyfriend’s room.

The suspect was therefore arrested by a team of detectives from the State Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on the following day of the incidence.

The Chief Magistrate ordered that Adeyemi be remanded in prison custody pending the receipt of legal advice from the State Director of Public Prosecution.

The case was adjourned till August 23 for receipt of the legal advice.
