BREAKING: Buhari Hands Over To Osinbajo, Begins ‘Short Vacation’

President Muhammad Buhari has handed over to vice President Yemi Osinbajo to discharge the functions and duties of the office of the president as the president embarks on a 5 days vacation to last from Friday February 5 to Wednesday February 10, 2016.

In a terse statement by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President, (Media & Publicity), the ‘short vacation’ begins today, Friday, and while he is away, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will perform the functions of the President.

“In compliance with Section 145 (1) of the Nigerian Constitution, President Buhari has dispatched a formal notice of his vacation to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives,” the statement said.

There have been growing concerns over Buhari’s health though in hushed tone by presidency staff and officials.

Buhari, 73, had during the campaigns in 2015 said he wished he was much younger to do what he wants to do.

Since assuming office, the president has constantly being on air travelling to the U.S, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Iran, Niger Republic, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Cameroon, Benin Republic and is expected to continue in the same manner.

Sources disclosed to this medium that he suffers from acute prostrate as well as other non-life threatening conditions but his constant travelling could seriously impair his ability to perform.
