BREAKING: Buhari Overlooks Health Minister, Reinstates NHIS Boss
President Muhammadu Buhari has reinstated the suspended Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Prof. Usman Yusuf.
Recall that Mr. Yusuf was in June, 2017, suspended by the Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole, over alleged gross misconduct.

A panel set-up by the minister after Mr. Yusuf’s suspension described the NHIS boss as a public servant who “portrayed a holier-than-thou attitude but in the background, milked the agency dry” by conniving with others to perpetrate fraud to the tune of over N919m.
According to the Premium times, Yusuf’s reinstatement letter was sent to Mr. Adewole on Tuesday evening.
“It is true that the president has reinstated him,” the minister said, however, did not reveal when the NHIS boss will resume.
The reinstatement letter urged Mr. Yusuf to work closely with the minister upon resumption.
