A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the forfeiture of about N34bn linked to former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
Justice Muslim Hassan, who had on January 6, 2017 issued an interim forfeiture order on the funds, gave a “final forfeiture order” on the assets on Thursday.
The judge said he was contented with the argument brought forward by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that the recovered monies were illegal proceeds.
Breakdown of the monies linked to the former Minister include, N23.4bn, N9.08bn and $5m (about N34 billion in total).
