BREAKING: Court Throws Out FG’s Corruption Charges Against Justice Ngwuta

The anti-graft war of the Muhammadu Buhari government has suffered another setback as an Abuja Federal High Court has acquitted Justice Sylvester Ngwuta of all 13 counts of money laundering and passport fraud.

It would be recalled that Justice Ngwuta of the Supreme Court was in 2016 arraigned after operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) raided his residence.

In his ruling, Justice John Tsoho of a Court of Appeal in Lagos threw out all government’s charges of corruption against the embattled Justice.

Tsoho ruled that the Nigerian government did not adhere to the required conditions before charging Ngwuta.

The trial judge affirmed the Court’s earlier judgement which ruled that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) or the DSS lacked the powers to investigate a serving judge.
