Breaking: Ex-SGF, Anyim Pius Released From EFCC Custody

Anyim Pius Anyim, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The WHISTLER reliably gathered that Anyim was released late Monday by the EFCC after spending close to two weeks in the anti-graft agency’s custody.

Recall that Anyim, who was Senate President under the Olusegun Obasanjo administration, was being held by the EFCC for questioning over contracts he allegedly awarded while he was SGF.

The anti-corruption agency had also said it was investigating Anyim for allegedly receiving N520 million from the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki.

Meanwhile, contrary to reports that Anyim was released last Thursday, the ex-SGF only regained his freedom last night from the EFCC custody.
