BREAKING: Former FCT Minister Bala Mohammed Remanded In Prison

Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Bala Mohammed, has been remanded in Kuje Prison over allegations of fraud.

Mr. Mohammed was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC before a High Court of the FCT on a six-count charge for alleged abuse of office while he served as Minister of the FCT.

The former minister is also accused of failing to declare his assets.

Mr. Mohammed pleaded not guilty to the charge, and pleaded for bail.

The presiding judge Abubakar Talba ruled that his application for bail will be heard on May 12.

He ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody pending the determination of the bail application.
