BREAKING: Health Minister Confirms 3 Cases Of Monkeypox

The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, has confirmed three cases of monkeypox virus from the 13 suspected cases reported from Bayelsa State in September.

The confirmation is the final report from the analysis of the samples which were taken to the World Health Organisation, WHO, laboratory in Dakar, capital city of Senegal.

He also confirmed that four results from the 43 suspected cases reported from other states including Lagos, Akwa Ibom and Ekiti states are negative.

The virus was first recorded in Bayelsa state and was reportedly spread to Rivers, Lagos, Ekiti and Akwa Ibom.
