Recall that the Senate had, on October 16, summoned the IGP, to appear before its panel to respond to allegations leveled against him by senator Misau.

The IGP, who failed to honour the invitation, however, stated that he will appear before the panel following consultations with his legal team.

Meanwhile, protesters on Wednesday afternoon occupied the entrance of the National Assembly to show solidarity with Idris.

The convener of the protest, Gloria Ugbeji, said such solidarity march is important based on the various reforms she said the police chief has brought to the service.
