Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo has signed the 2017 Appropriation Bill into law, six months after it was presented to the National Assembly.
Osinbajo assented on the 2017 Budget with estimates totalling 7.441trillion, at about 4:40pm on Monday, June 12, 2017, the Presidency says.

The acting president was joined by Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, at the State House Abuja for the signing of the budget.
At the signing Osinbajo commended the National Assembly for their efforts in ensuring the passage of the budget.

President Buhari in December 2016 presented a budget proposal of N7.298 trillion for the 2017 fiscal year before a joint session of the National Assembly.
Buhari proposed that the implementation of the Budget will be based on the economic recovery and growth strategy.
The National Assembly had in May passed the 2017 Budget, before transmitting to Presidency for assent.
