Budget Padding: Buhari Orders Removal Of 22 Directors From Budget Office

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, ordered the immediate redeployment of 22 top directors of the Budget Office.

Recall that Buhari has promised to deal ruthlessly with top civil servants who altered figures in the 2016 budget.

A statement signed by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation, noted that redeployment affected four directors, six deputy directors and 12 assistant directors.

The statement noted that the redeployment was part of a service-wide posting involving about 184 senior staff in various ministries, departments and agencies, in the federal civil service, adding that the directors are expected to resume at their new stations on Friday, March 11.

It was gathered that 14 other senior officials have been posted from various MDAs, to replace the redeployed officials.
