Buhari appoints ExxonMobil Vice-Chairman as NNPC boss

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu as Group Managing Director (GMD) of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). According to Sahara reporters.

Prior to his appointment, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu who hails from Onicha Ugbo in Aniocha Local government area of Delta state was Executive Vice Chairman at ExxonMobil Africa.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on June 26 ordered for immediate dissolution of the National Petroleum Corporation board, amid accusations of mismanagement and widespread corruption.

Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu will replace Joseph Darwa who is expected to vacate his office at NNPC towers not later than today.
