Buhari Arrives Paris For ‘One Planet Summit’

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Paris, France to participate alongside over 50 world leaders in the ‘One Planet Summit’.

Mr Buhari arrived the French capital on Monday evening after his departure from the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano earlier in the day.

The Summit holds tomorrow Tuesday December 12th, 2017, at La Seine Musicale, Île Seguin – Boulogne-Billancourt, Paris, France.

At the summit being jointly organised by the United Nations, the World Bank Group, the French Government, as well as some NGOs, President Buhari alongside some world leaders will make presentations on: Scaling-up Finance for Climate Action; Greening Finance for Sustainable Business; Accelerating Local and Regional Climate Action; and Strengthening Policies for Ecological and Inclusive Transition.

Themed “Climate Change Financing,” the summit seeks to support and accelerate common efforts to fight climate change by pulling finance from both the public and private sectors.

President Buhari who was accompanied by the governors of Adamawa, Kano and Ondo States, as well as the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Environment, is expected to return to Abuja on Thursday.
