Buhari Stays Put In U.K, Extends Leave Indefinitely

The Federal Government has announced that President Muhammadu Buhari’s February 5th planned return from his medical vacation in the United Kingdom has been shifted.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the President Buhari, Femi Adesina, who said that the reason for the extended leave was for the President to “complete and receive the results” of medical test conducted by his doctors.

The President, who embarked on a 10-day medical leave in the United Kingdom last month was expected back into the country today, 5th February, 2017.

It is not clear when President Buhari will return, however, there are suggestions that he may have decided to hold on until the protest planned against his administration is over.

Recall that Nigerian singer, Innocent “2Face” Idibia had rallied support of his fans, friends and colleagues to protest on the state of the Nigerian economy.

There are also concerns on the state of the President’s health, after reports of his death sparked numerous debates last month.
